Parent Involvement Committee

The Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is a county-wide advisory committee. The committee works with SCDSB staff and trustees to support student success through parent/guardian engagement.

The PIC helps to build parent/guardian engagement within the SCDSB by:
  • communicating with and supporting school councils

  • providing information and advice to trustees and SCDSB staff on parent/guardian engagement

  • providing events or information to help parents/guardians support their children's learning at home and school

The PIC is made up of parents/guardians and community representatives from across Simcoe County. Members serve for a two-year term, with the option of renewing for an additional two years.

The committee also includes staff, who are non-voting members, and trustees, who are appointed to the committee annually by the Board of Trustees.

Meetings

The PIC meets a minimum of four times per year. Meeting agendas and minutes are posted on our Board and Committee Meetings page. Recordings of PIC meetings are posted on the SCDSB YouTube channel.
